2024 “Hoops in the Heartland” Basketball Clinic

What\u2019s Included:<\/strong>
Top 3A and 4A boys high school teams compete in a double elimination tournament.  12 teams, 2 full courts.
~DMOA Membership!  Yes, that\u2019s correct!! <\/strong> Campers will receive FREE<\/strong><\/em> annual dues for one sport to the DMOA!!
~Minimum of 2 evaluations by top-rated clinicians\/evaluators.  Following games worked, campers will go to classroom setting to receive evaluation notes and critique of their floor work.
~35-second shot clock will be used!! Lower-level officials can gain experience with this rule to
help move up!
~Day-long film review and play discussion.  Fill your down-time throughout the day with film
review\/discussion.
~Lunch:  Yes, that\u2019s correct!!<\/strong>  Snacks, lunch and water will be provided to each camper.
~IHSAA\/IGHSAU Clinic Credit!  Yes, that\u2019s correct!!<\/strong>  This camp has been endorsed by the IHSAA and IGHSA for required clinic credit. All registered Iowa officials are required to attend a clinic in their first 3 years and\/or to qualify for post-season assignments.  ATTENDANCE AT THIS CLINIC MEETS THIS REQUIREMENT!!
~Classroom sessions on proposed new rules, 35-second shot-clock administration, 3-person
mechanics, game management, communication, professionalism and other relevant topics presented by top area officials\/evaluators\/clinicians\/assigners.
~Area coaches\/officials panel discussion. Top area coaches will participate in a panel discussion open to all officials to answer questions and discuss most favorable traits of an official, how to communicate with a coach and other relevant topics.

DEVELOP\/TRAIN AREA HIGH SCHOOL OFFICIALS WHO DESIRE TO IMPROVE THEIR GAME.

(We will announce when camp is full, but will again offer \u201cShadow Official\u201d spots at a reduced price for all camp activities with the exception of on-the-floor game work.
